J.S.S. Sri Manjunatheshwara College of Education, Vidyagiri, Dharwad was started in 2007 in the J.S.S. Campus. The beautiful college situated in a well spacious area in the J.S.S Campus. The College aims at preparing teachers who help to shape the tender minds into humane, creative & innovative citizens of the society. The institution has focused to meet the demands of modern society providing skillful training to student teachers. The college has a Governing Council and Academic Advisory Council of the College which monitors and guides the academic & administrative aspects of the college.
About Our Institution
The Janata Shikshana Samiti (J.S.S.), started with a meager strength of forty students during 1944. Late Shri R. S. Hukkerikar, the veteran freedom fighter, constructive worker and educationist as its founder. The college originally started as an intermediate college but science wing was added in the year 1949. An excellent environment for learning with modern facilities made our college one of the best institutions in this part of North Karnataka. The institute works under guidance of great visionaries: H.H. Sri 1008 Vishweshwarateertha Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt, Udupi and Pujya Padma Vibhushan Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade of Shri. Kshetra Dharmasthala, Dharmasthala, South Canara & Prof. N. Vajrakumar,, now Dr. N. Vajrakumar a honorary doctorate degree awarded from Karnatak University, Dharwad during convocation of 2009 for the pioneering work of building the institution and promulgating academic career to the students fraternity by establishing educational colleges in twin cities of Hubli and D harwad.'Brand JSS'.
